As I drove in and through Utah, I kept asking myself, “Who the hell owns all this wide open land?” Answer: You and I! Of Utah’s total 85,000 sq miles, the Federal Government owns 65%. Broken down by agency: BLM ( Bureau of Land Management) 65%, FS (U.S. Forest Service) 24% and the National Parks 6%. Utah is #2 in federal land ownership. Nevada is #1
The United States owns 30% of all land in America. That is 650,000,000 acres. If we sold all of it at an average price of $55, we could pay off our national debt: $36 Trillion.

Book Club
I finished Who Knew, By Barry Dillard on AudioBook. First and foremost, the audio book was narrated by Barry himself. If you have the option, I strongly recommend listening to the audio book over reading the book. Having Barry tell you his own story was very entertaining and unique. Barry Dillard is recognized as one of the most successful executives in the film and TV business. You will learn about the time TV was just starting and movies and movie stars were gods. Barry was one of the first to recognize the shift to TV and change the industry when he started Fox, the 4th tv channel and somethihng completely different then the main 3. You will here about Jack Nickolson roaming the halls looking for work, Warren Beattu, Michael Eisner, Katzenbburg and how he found John Travolta. Barry played poker for 20 years with Johnny Carson, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Neil Simon and Carl Reiner.
This Month’s Road Funny
This was a small resort that offered dome shapped rooms, made from glass and fully retractable shades all around. For those that want to camp but don’t want bugs, weather or to setup anything.
