85th Sturgis, Denver, Evan, and time at the White House

Sturgis, South Dakota
The World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rally!
Originally called the Black Hills Classic , this now famous event has earned the right to be called by a single name:
“Sturgis”

This was the 85th year for the largest motorcycle rally in the country. The town of Sturgis, South Dakota has a population 7,000 full time residents. During the first 10 days of August, 537,000 will visit. Being such a small town, you have to make your reservation 6-12 months in advance or like some, rent space in somebody’s front yard. I stayed at the famous Buffalo Chip RV Campground. Motorcycle rides in the area include Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway, The Devil’s Tower, Custer National Park and the famous Full Throttle Saloon. Other great attractions include Jewel NP ( 250 million year old cave) This small RV park sets up stages, concessions. It was a wonderful 10 days of motorcycling, hiking, exploring 250 million year old caves, motorcycling, gauking, petting a baby buffalo, eating cowboy/carnival food, and live music everywhere!

Time with Evan in Denver

Before the Sturgis event, I drove to Denver to drop off Jagger. The Buffalo Chip does not allow dogs as it is too crowded and noisy. After the 10 day event , I drove back to Denver to spend time with Evan and get Jagger. Evan and I played golf, went to dinners, dog parks and shopped for his first home. Oh my my, Denver real estate is EXPENSIVE! I had a great time helping Evan learn the many different issues and considerations when buying a house. After you have done it a few times, you forget how overwhelming it is the first time. Evan picks up the information very easily and likes to understand all the small details like me.
Spending Time at the White House
My good friends of over 50 years, Marty and Sharon White, bought land and built a house in Carbondale Colorado. Carbondale is just outside of Glenwood Springs and the back side of the Aspen ski mountain. When Marty built the house, I jokingly told him to make sure he put in a 50amp electric outlet so I could park the motorcoach at this house. He did, so I did. The house, the view and town area is very uniquie and special. It was a wonderful 4 days relaxing, playing pickleball, riding motorcycles and letting Jagger go nuts off leash on the property!

MOVES LIKE JAGGER

Every wonder how road speed limits are determined? It is the fastest safe speed the largest vehicle legally allowed on the road can go.
This Month’s Road Funny

Book Club:
Too damn busy this month
WHERE I AM GOING:
Bryce Canyon, UTAH.
A full 30 days without moving! Finally get some down time to finish organizing the new coach, enjoy some motorcycle rides, hikes and more. A place called Bryce Canyon RV and Horse Camp. Close to Bryce Canyon, 2 hours from Zion NP and miles and miles of BLM land.
Q&A:
Please send me questions about the RV or RV life or Jagger or the areas I have been. Even if the question is really stupid, I’ll answer it and wouldn’t reveal who asked. If you have been to these places, call and chat.
If you would like to be removed from the email list, just send a 3-4 page written explaination and I will present it to the committee for possible removal.
Until next month,
Be Happy Be Well
Yours Truly,
Mosey
