Miles Driven: 587 | Days on Road: 30
WHERE I HAVE BEEN: My first stop was in St. Augustine to visit Patti’s son Danny, his wife Shannon and their 2 children: Andrew (5) and Emma (7). On Saturday, I enjoyed watching Emma’s softball game. Everyone had fun with pleasant weather and enjoyable competition. Later, Danny used his new table saw to install 7 slide-out shelves in the RV cabinets. This dramatically improved storage and accessibility inside. He is a talented craftsman and did a great job. Thank you Danny! Emma was a big help putting things together and helping me organize. The kids spent the night in the RV with Papa. Watched a fun movie and had yummy ice-cream!

For the next two days, I traveled north Cary, NC. During multi-day trips like this, I will often stay overnight at a truck stop. ( such as a Pilot/Flying J, TA, or Love’s truck stop. . Although staying at a truck stop may not sound very sexy, I can use the RV generator ( Onan quiet diesal 10,000 Kilo-watt) that can power the entire bus (all 3 air conditioners, rthe refrigerator/freezer, washer/dryer, and more). This provides a free overnight spot. However, spaces can all be taken if you arrive too late. Some truck stops now offer the option to reserve a spot for $20.

The bus holds 150 gallons of diesel and both the 450 HP Cummins engine and the generator pull from the same tank. The full convoy gets 6 mpg with the motorcycle on the lift and towing the car. People freak out about that but remember I can go weeks or even months without driving anywhere. For a RV my size the nightly rate for an RV spot which includes 50amp electric, water and sewer is only $40-$90 per night.
My second stop was at Jordan Lake State Park in North Carolina. This is close to Raleigh and where Erin and Melissa Kreitman (my second cousin) lives with their son Jacob (2) and Eliza ( 30 days old!). Alvin, Jamey and Kailey came up from Charlotte for some nice family time and for all to spend Mother’s day together.
MOVES LIKE JAGGER: Jagger is settling into the RV life extremely well and better than i expected. He has been very busy and awake sdlkjalsdkjlasdj;alsjdf
